By Ray in Jacksonville from Jacksonville, Florida on 08/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Cons: Insole slips backward Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this shoe to work in my landscaping business. The person I ordered them for wears an 11 1/2 normally but in this shoes requires an 11. The problem with the insole slipping out is the first time i have had this problem with Merrill shoes so don't let this stop you from buying this shoe. Sierre Trading Has been great in the past with returns. Just wear them in the house first so that you dont ruin them.

By BBB from Outer Banks, North Carolina on 07/30/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Pretty good shoe but heavy compared to other brands I have used. Do not act as sturdy as other light weight hikers I have. Only time will tell about wear
By Robert from North Carolina on 07/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: All around wear; casual, hiking, walking!
Merrell's always aim to please. By Kansas Runner from Olathe, KS on 07/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Cons: Not Water Resistant, Sole Wears Out Quickly Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have always been a big fan of Merrill shoes. I wanted another pair of day hiking shoes, that were not only light weight but would also allow me to wear around town too.
These are fantastic, except the mesh allows even dew from morning grass to soak your feet. I knew up front these were not water resistent, so that is not a complaint. I am letting others know if they have a tendency to walk through wet grass or a puddle or two, you socks will definately get wet. I have gore-tex shoes and boots, so I know when to wear them.
These are great summer/dry weather day hiking shoes or all around great everyday shoes.
A+
By Dave S from Coastal SC on 07/27/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these for working outdoors on turf or in wooded locations. The only complaint I might have is that the soles are not as flexible as I expected, but the stiffer last does make the shoes very stable.
